What have you learnt from audience feedback?
I started to gain feedback on my music video by firstly asking my close friends on a Facebook chat, I began with friends to get an initial understanding of what reaction my video gave to an audience and I knew that they would be true to their word and give positive and constructive criticism pointing the pros and cons of the music video.

Year 9 student;
* did not completely understand the meaning
* interesting-although repetitive after a while
* editing to the beat = perfect timing
* need more clothing changes, to show more time
Year 9 student;
* editing was really good, backwards shots, editing and music in sync, close up shots were good
* hard to understand the meaning
Year 9 student;
* I thought it looked like a real music video
* Really liked the slow-motion at the end
Year 9 student;
* Good representation of the chemistry trying to be conveyed
* Good fast cuts at the end
* Good use of specially effects
* Maybe add more clothing to represent a longer period of time
Year 9 student;
* The boy looked like he was going to laugh
* I liked how the glitter and feathers were moving in the same time as the music
* Camera was shaky

Year 13 students;
* Rewind of the glitter was very effective caused it enhanced the feeling of relationship
* The close ups created a sense of intimacy
Year 12 student;
* Disclosure- The opening title helps to create this build up as for its time taken to appear on the screen. The letters faded in perfectly on time and helped to portray this intrigue. The blurred effect on the faces formed a sense of mystery and therefore also formed intrigue. The close up shots of the two individuals are rather personal, causing a feeling of vulnerability. I thought that the use of a black background increased the focus on the two individuals in the video, and the overall moving of the images was very well timed. The use of glitter and feathers was extremely effective against the background and caught the light nicely. The slow motion effect against stationary couple added a creative interest. My only criticism is perhaps the ending of the video, I think that you could have possibly filmed some varied shots which perhaps would have helped to tell a story.
Year 12 student;
* Disclosure - I think the camera work was really good in this and it was very simple and effective. Personally, I didn't understand why the actors had the confetti and glitter thrown at them but none the less it was still a cool idea.
I received many pro’s and con’s through many age demographics but I do believe that my music video was a success, although it was apparent across the board that the weakest element to my video was that I did not portray a strong enough meaning to the use of glitter and feathers, and how I tried to portray passion and lust by using other objects. Some direct quotes are ‘they look great but what do they mean?’ ‘There’s not a very strong meaning’ ‘why the glitter’. When initially planning my video I never considered to specify what the glitter represented or involve more passionate movements such as a kiss or more touching to communicate it to the audience. Another main criticism that I collected was such things as ‘he looked like he was going to laugh’ ‘he wasn’t the best choice, always smiling’ ‘he kept laughing’. This makes me consider looking in to depth with my choice of actors as he had little acting ability and my choice to pick look over skill was a poorer choice as it was apparent throughout that his capability to keep a straight face was not as strong as the female actor. My prime idea to have the actors have little expression was a large part of my concept so sadly its disappointing to have lost that a little throughout the music video as I believe it would have kept a stronger sense of inattention towards each other in the ‘relationship’.
On a brighter note, the positive feedback I was given back was the interestingness of the music video and my editing skill plus how the video match the feel and tone of the song, which was such a pleasure to read due my effort that I put into editing and as I worked singular on the music video and the feedback was very uplifting. ‘love the reverse shots of feathers and glitter and how they were in complete time with the music’ ‘the use of glitter looked so amazing’ ‘the cuts and shots were really in time with the music’ ‘really professional editing’ ‘cuts and edits were so smooth’ ‘it felt like a real music video’ ‘really interesting’ ‘the close ups really created a great feel and intimacy’ ‘best one!’. The glitter and feathers was a very challenging edit together so getting such strong feedback on the way it looked and the timing to the beats in the music was great as it was my main concept and intention of the music video in creation. In addition, using many different ages to comment on the video gave me an idea at how I focused my target audience very strongly as especially many of the younger students who gave excellent feedback, really enjoyed the visuals as it seemed that the older students looked more in to the meaning in the concept of the video whilst also enjoying the visuals.
